Full Time Paid Internship

The ideal candidate for an internship position will have basic knowledge of and the desire to learn about the following areas of Fire Protection Engineers:

 

- Building/fire code standards and their application to modern construction

- Computer Fire and Egress Modeling 

- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit Software packages 

- Report writing and interpersonal skills 

- Working in a dynamic team environment and develop creative solutions to complex problems

Full Time Position

Responsibilities:


- Must be able to independently read field notes and translate the information into AutoCAD and Revit

- Create/modify production drawings utilizing engineers markups and sketches under minimum supervision

- Maintain project drawing files, records and documentation in an orderly condition

- Must be capable of working effectively in a team setting

- Create complex drawings in CAD and Revit

- Assist CAD manager with various other duties


Requirements:


- Graduate of a 2 year technical school or Bachelor’s Degree

- Proficient in AutoCad 2016 or newer

-  1-2 years’ experience in Revit preferred

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, Windows

- Ability to follow directions and adapt to new challenges

- Willingness to learn new software and techniques

- Ability to work in a dynamic team work environment

Full Time Position

The ideal candidate would have experience with the design of fire protection, fire alarm systems, and means of egress design.


- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SprinkCAD, and Revit required. 

- Preferred EIT, but not required

Full Time Position

Preferred Qualifications:


- 1 to 3 years’ experience in code consulting / fire protection engineering

- EIT or ability to obtain EIT within 1 year of hire

- BS Degree in Engineering or related field required 

- MS Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field preferred



The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following qualities:


- Detailed knowledge of building/fire code standards and their application to modern construction

- Knowledge of Computer Fire and Egress Modeling

- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit Software packages

- Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills

- Ability to communicate and negotiate with building officials

- Capability to successfully manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines

- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and develop creative solutions to complex problems


Full Time Position

- 3 to 5 years’ experience in code consulting / fire protection engineering

- EIT or ability to obtain EIT within 1 year of hire

- BS Degree in Engineering or related field required 

- MS Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field preferred
